In this kitchen and dining room, the customer wanted a unique look with 16 tiny glass square dots spread throughout.  To accomplish this look, we cut two corners off of each piece of tile.  This tile fabrication was done in our shop.  In some cases you can special order the tile to be cut from the manufacturer or tile distributor.

Wood look tile is very popular these days

Wood look tile comes in a variety of colors however, gray seems to be the most popular as it goes well with white and black and has that weathered look.  These plank style pieces are set with a tight joint and require less grout.  We recommend setting them 1/3 offset so there are a minimal amount of lips which makes for a smooth finish.

Subway tiles

Subway tiles are very popular these days.  Typically we install white with a variation of stripes or dots.  For this backsplash our customer chose a subway tile with a hint of green and a green 2x2 tile for the accent stripe.  This backsplash compliments a new countertop with the same hue of green to match the stripe.  The result is a very clean and simple design that will stand the test of time.

These small octagon and subway tiles are as popular as they were a hundred years ago.   We have done several jobs with this look.  Also, shampoo shelves are a must with any shower.  This one is a two tiered shelf for soaps, razors, etc. The border is the octagon tiles with a black stripe border.  Borders really make stripes and murals pop.

These folks were not using the linen closet so why not remove it and make a larger shower.  The first image is of the shower opening with a narrow wall on the left and a linen closet was on the right.   The second image shows you what happens when make a couple of minor change to the space.

One of my favorite before and after picutes

This was a short shower with a cabinet above.  We removed the cabinet, cut the drywall, and removed all the rotting materials.  Added backerboard and insulation to both exterior walls.  Built the shower pan and curb, moved the shower fixture up and tiled to/including the ceiling.  The result was a taller, warmer, safe and beautiful shower.

Amazing what difference a stone backsplash makes

Before-painted wall.  After-installed tumbled travertine set diagonally with a custom made tile mural in the middle and the result is beautiful.  The addition of a backsplash complimented the gorgeous granite for the countertop and hickory cabinets.

Glass tile installation tips

Glass tile chips, no way around it.  I use the best saw blade made just for cutting glass tiles and still see little chips.  With the beautiful glass colored tiles out there, I had to find a way to make them look like they were not chipped.  I  cut them as slowly as I can, then take a piece of pumice stone and gently blended the chipped appearance away.  Results are shown here.  And I have a very happy customer.

Pictures are worth a thousand words

These are the after pictures our customer sent of their complete bathroom remodel.  Their goal was to create a spa like atmosphere.  We removed the wall between the bath and shower,  tore out the existing shower and tub tile, built a shower pan and shampoo shelves.  Then we tiled everything with this beautiful stone look ceramic tile.  The glass enclosure was custom built to fit the dimensions.
